Catalysing Spiritual Life

In our travels in Europe we regularly spend time with godly men and women from other networks and denominations, and too often one thing is conspicuously missing...

...these dear people are so often devoted followers of Christ, Bible-based, committed to the mission of God through the church, and yet lacking in conviction about the empowering presence of God by his Spirit for individual holy living and for ministry and service in and beyond the church. Why should this be so? When pressed it becomes clear that, in most situations, there is no lack of biblical conviction about the power of God - in fact, they are desperate for the power of God and recognise their deep need of this in their lives and ministries. But frequently they have been alarmed or concerned by immature or irresponsible behaviour by those who consider themselves to be ‘charismatic’ Christians. And this has caused them to ‘throw the baby out with the bathwater’ and back away from any charismatic expression.

This presents for us a wonderful opportunity to serve the body of Christ in the nations of Europe. What a thrill it is to live the life of the Spirit to which we are called by the grace of God through Jesus Christ, being partakers of the divine nature as we fully enjoy what it means to be adopted into a thriving Spirit-filled family, rich in the life and activity of God. Ministries of the Spirit, travelling among our churches, help catalyse spiritual life and build faith for genuine spiritual encounter through the teaching of reliable doctrine and the impartation of the Spirit. Seeking to build a mature and healthy culture of the Spirit through prophetic ministry, healings, and through the release of spiritual power and faith in individual lives and in whole communities of believers. "I long to be with you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift,” says Paul to the church in Rome (Rom 1: 11).

Let’s give ourselves to what it means to ‘live by the Spirit’ in our individual walk with Jesus, and make our contribution to developing a mature and responsible culture of the Spirit in our corporate church life, teeming with spiritual revelation, insight, gifts, ministries, life, worship and power. The nations of Europe are in desperate need of this.

Every Blessing
